Sexual Temptation

I’m guessing the biblical Potiphar’s wife must have been a very attractive woman with charm, based on her position and the settings of old Egypt. Yet, in the face of temptation, Joseph fled. He wasn’t contemplating whether to yield to her advances or not. He fled!
Let’s relate it to this present times; a time when a man must be overzealous with women in an attempt to prove your virility.
And should your male peers (even females) hear that a woman as elegant, connected and wealthy as Potiphar’s wife approached you, begging for sex, and you turned her down, you may be vilified and called ‘weak’ for not grabbing such opportunity with both hands.
Maybe, just maybe the story about Joseph and Potiphar’s wife would’ve been told differently. Just like this.
.
Her husband Potiphar was never home. As the Commander in chief of President Pharaoh’s guard, he followed the President everywhere he went – high profile functions, meetings, international trips, etc.
While Potiphar globe-trotted, sex was lacking in their matrimonial home. Potiphar’s wife needed a man to take her to bed and satisfy her.
No other person caught her fancy other than Joseph; her husband’s most trusted aide. Joseph was handsome, well-built and had a taut body. She desired him. Because she had developed interest in Joseph, Potiphar’s wife started visiting the gym at the workers’ quarters; even though she had the facilities in her own chamber. She’d go to the gym solely to feed her wandering eyes, as Joseph worked out. Most times she requested that Joseph trained her, so that she could have a close feel of him.
.
After delivering a message to his master’s wife, Joseph was about exiting Potiphar’s wife’s tastefully furnished lounge when Potiphar’s wife spoke,
“Can i talk to you about something important, Joe boy?”
These days she specifically requested he did everything for her, even when she had maids and assistants.
Interestingly, she now called his name endearingly. ‘Jojo, Joe or Joe-boy’
Joseph didn’t understand the true purpose behind it. It could simply be her being nice. He always thought.
“I’m at your service ma.” Joseph replied, humbly.
“Sit down please.”
“Don’t be scared, relax.”
Standing and smiling, Potiphar’s wife offered him a seat and he sat.
She asked, “You care for a drink?”
“No, thank you ma.”
Potiphar’s wife shrugged.
“This is it dear. As you know my husband is a busy man. He travels constantly.”
Joseph nodded.
“You see, sometimes I feel lonely.” She paused, fixed her eyes on him and continued.
“I feel bored in this big house and…” She paused again, dropped the glass of wine in her hand on the glass side stool and rose from her seat.
.
“Joseph, You are aware that you’re the only one I like having around me uhm? Can you make me happy?”
Joseph being a novice replied,
“Ah, anything you want ma, I fit do am. Sweet films dey wey i fit bring come wey go make u hapi. You don watch “game of thrones?” Joseph exclaimed naively.
.
“Nah, come on Joe. Not movies, I want this…” She purred, throwing her hands around his shoulders and nudged him with her boob.
Joseph quickly took her hands off him and retreated a few steps back.
“Hei God! Abeg, Madam I no fit do dis kain thing for oga back o. Oga Portoo na good man, e gimme work, e gimme food, e gimme house. I tay God beg you madam.”
.
Visibly angry and disappointed, Potiphar’s wife barked, “Don’t be silly dear! Are you a baby?”
“No ma.”
Reaching forward, she tried to kiss him, Joseph ducked down and kept a distance.
She smiled, picked up the glass of wine from the side stool and gulped.
“How old are you again?”
“25 ma.”
“Do you have a girlfriend? When last did you do it with her?”
Joseph cut in sharply, “Madam I have to go please”
“Don’t leave! Until I say so.”
.
Joseph was nervous. He swallowed hard and wore a frightened look.
Tall, fair, well endowed,
Potiphar’s wife was goddam beautiful.
He had to leave before things take a different turn. He quickly made for the door.
Fist clenched and utterly frustrated, Potiphar’s wife yelled, “I’ll get you little boy! Fool! Weak man!”
.
The days that followed, Joseph pretended that nothing had happened.
Regardless, his madam kept up with her pestering and sexual harassments. Several erotic text messages flooded his inbox expressing her desires; as well as requests to spend weekends outside town with him on days her husband was away.
Sometimes madam would walk past him and brush his manhood, winking, sticking out her tongue seductively, and mentioning how good he looked.
The other day he was washing the cars, his master’s wife wore a skimpy flowered dress to the garage. She intentionally threw an object on the floor and bent down to pick it, flashing her underwear. This got him aroused.
.
It was one of those nights that Potiphar had taken a trip out of the country with President Pharaoh.
Joseph was restocking the house with cartons of wine from the store. Potiphar’s wife watched him as he lifted each carton like they weighed nothing. He was so muscular and strong. Her body was on fire, she felt engorged around her lower region.
.
She quickly stripped off her silk night wear. This was her moment to have him. She thought.
Wearing just a Victoria’s secret lingerie, she tip-toed towards him and caught him by his T-shirt.
.
“Yes! I’ve caught you today. You’re coming to bed with me o. You must give it to me now! Or can’t you handle a woman?”
She exclaimed, gasping.
.
He could easily overpower her and bolt away. On a second thought, he imagined if he slept with this beautiful woman, won’t it be a great way to lose his virginity – A covenant he made with God? Such restrictive covenant has been difficult to keep over the years. As he had always wanted to know what sex feels like. Moreover, this encounter would earn him bragging rights among his peers.
Joseph grew weak as Potiphar’s wife groped him; her eyes were filled with raw desire.
“Madam..but..” Joseph said feebly.
“Joe baby..I know, come to me.” She cooed.
Remembering his master, oga Portoo, Joseph felt a pang of guilt. But looking at the naked wife of the captain of the President’s guard, his erection grew.
Who wouldn’t want to have a taste of this steaming appetizer?
The flesh is indeed weak. Joseph took off his clothing slowly and allowed Potiphar’s wife drag him to the master’s bed.
This will be their little secret.
Oga Portoo won’t ever know.
God will understand.

Make Room for the New (KINGDOM IDENTITY)

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:18‭-‬19 KJV

We all want situations and people aroundus to change, but rarely do we see those areas change. In fact, many times when I have brought these kind of concerns up in prayer, the response from the Lord is, “Son, if you want them or that to change, then you need to change.” The “new” we are wanting around has to first take root inside of us. So here’s a question we need to ask when wanting people and things to change – “Am I making room for the new?” The excitement of new is thrilling, but we need to set a standard inside of ourselves when it comes to new.

“New” is not repackaging what you already have, it’s pioneering something fresh in your life! When you begin to desire “NEW,” everything changes – priorities, standards, and focuses. A hunger for “NEW” will give you an appetite for unfamiliar territory and will make the impossible look attractive. The hunger for new can be a gift if you are willing to change. Starting today, give yourself permission to make room for the new!

The power of Hiddenness (KINGDOM IDENTITY)

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:1‭-‬3 ESV

The Power of Hiddenness

Hidden seasons are sacred seasons. Being hidden with Christ means you will go through seasons where you feel like your whole life is under construction. Many times we feel buried, but we must remember that hidden seasons produce strengths that unveiling seasons cannot. Assets like character, authority, wisdom, boldness, vision, morality, special talents are not developed while everyone is watching. I’m sure we all could agree of how grateful we are for the small circle of people who have played key roles in these seasons of our lives, because the building process is not always beautiful but chaotic.

When you squeeze an orange, what do you get? Orange juice. When you squeeze a grape, what do you get? Grape juice. When life, tests, and relationships squeeze you, what do they get? Frustration, mediocrity, and weakness or focus, courage, and strength? Hidden seasons are where the pressing and pruning happen in our lives. If you’re experiencing the loving pressing and pruning of the Lord, I’ve got great news for you, friend. You’ve not been BURIED, you’ve been HIDDEN! Hidden seasons are sacred seasons because that’s where lasting growth is built. STAY HIDDEN!!!

MORNING DEVOTION:Far and Beyond

Far and Beyond

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever.(Ephesians 3:2021, NASB)

God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above and beyond all we could ever imagine! Think about that for a moment. God wants to take you far and beyond what you’ve ever dreamed. He wants to accelerate you this year which means He can bring you into opportunities that will boggle your mind. He can make your career take off like a rocket. He can cause you to meet the right people who will help further your dreams. He can launch you forward more quickly than you could have imagined! He can bring you out of debt and cause you to pay that house off even though it looked impossible. You’re going to get well even though the medical report says there’s no way.

Things may be dark and gloomy around you, but keep your head held high. You have an advantage. You are a child of the Most High God. His face is shining down on you. God is saying that it’s not going to be an average year. It’s not going to be a barely-get-by year. No, you need to get ready because it’s going to be a year of favor, a year of increase, a year of acceleration!

Father, thank You for accelerating every area of my life. I choose to put my trust in You knowing that You are directing my steps. Thank You for the good plans You have in store for me in Jesus name. Amen.

#Voice of #God: THE BRIDE OF THE LAMB PART 2

TOPIC: THE BRIDE OF THE LAMB PART 2

INTRODUCTION: In the first part of this series, we saw how the Church vas a mystery to the Old Testament Saints. Also, we saw that the Church, the Body of Christ, is an assembly of called out ones. In this study, we want to find out why the Church is called the Body of Christ, how the Bride could be related to a Temple, and so on. May God bless us richly as we study at His feet in Jesus Name. Amen.

1. WHY CALL THE CHURCH THE BODY OF CHRIST?
Some of the functions of the head are: think with the brain, supply food into the body through the mouth and keep the body alive through air supply via the nostrils. Jesus performs these functions perfectly for the Church. On the other hand, the church is expected to perform the functions of the body which include carrying the head about, executing the plans of the brain and making the head known generally.
Matt. 6:31-34; Phil. 4:19; John 15:5; Ps. 34:8, 10; Ps. 23:1; Matt. 28:18-20; Mark 16:17-18; Phil. 1:21; Matt. 5:48; Eph. 4:11-13.

2. THE BRIDE AS A TEMPLE
The Bride, the Body of Christ or the Church is also called a Temple with the Lord Jesus Christ Himself being the Church Cornerstone. Next to Christ are the Apostles in the foundation of the Temple. The first layer of superstructure consists of 3,000 living stones. A few days later, the next layer of 5,000 was built. The building is continuing till now. Only those who are saved between Pentecost day and the second coming of Christ will fit into this living Temple. Will you be among?
Matt. 16:13-20; Acts 4:5-12; I Pet. 2:5-8; I Cor. 3:11; Eph. 2:19-22; Acts 2:41; Acts 4:4; Rev. 19:9.
